A DREAM
Wellbeing Retreat
Creating a special retreat away from the hustle of everyday life has been a dream for ASANA for years. Discover how we're building our Ozora Pikorua 'wholebeing' retreat in the Hungarian countryside and about some of the challenges along the way. And what's the significance of the name?
The nearby village of Ozora gives its name to the Ozora Festival which takes place close to our site. This annual, summer 'psychedelic tribal gathering' started in 1999 to commemorate the total solar eclipse.
The Pikorua is a Maori symbol representing loyalty, friendship and love, signifying the strength and beauty of enduring friendships. For ASANA it also has a deeper meaning and acts as a symbol of remembrance for the close friends we have lost.
About Ozora Pikorua
Ozora Pikorua retreat is situated in Igar Vampuszta, just 10 minutes from the Ozora Festival site. The quiet, rural location is a world away from the 'busyness' that pervades our lives providing our guests with a place to rest, reset and re-energise.
Work is still underway to develop the full potential of the retreat but we already have two of our unique Pikorua Pods ready for guests. Each pod provides accommodation for two people with plenty of room for clothes and bags.
We currently have two fully equipped dedicated guest bathrooms and a utility room with laundry facilities. Outside there is a large multi-function space suitable for yoga practice, relaxing, dining and other social events.
At present we have off road parking for 4 vehicles and verge parking for an additional 4 cars. Please note we do not currently have facilities for EV charging but a fresh water tap is available next to the parking area.
Further work to develop the site will continue early 2025, when we will be working to bring our second guest building to life with two more fully equipped twin guest rooms and bathrooms in time for Ozora 2025. At the same time, we will be introducing our self-contained family suite with private bathroom and private balcony, perfect for up to 2 adults and 2 children.
